Dexter Construction Company is a large, diversified Construction Company engaged in all major aspects of the heavy civil construction industry within the Atlantic Provinces. We are currently looking for a Facilities Labourer/Carpenter to join our New Brunswick Operations. This position will be based out of Moncton, NB, but will involve travel to other parts of the province.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Travel around province to inspect and maintain commercial buildings and properties for different companies that provide a wide range of services.
- Inspect and supervise multiple vendors from Amherst to Woodstock, St Quentin to St. John.
- Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labour.
- Load, unload, and move construction materials around the worksite.
- Clean tools, equipment, materials, and work areas.
- Interact and communicate with all levels of management and employees at these various sites.
- Communicate and report directly to facilities foreman.
- Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task.
- Maintain, repair, and renovate spaces.
- Compose and deliver accurate observations and reports with outlook.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, and Experience:
- 2 years of construction/renovation experience.
- Familiarity and safe use of hand and power tools.
- Safety training (preferred)
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft suite)
- Basic construction math skills.
- Any trades apprenticeship (preferred)
- First aid considered an asset.
- Clean driving abstract.
- Travel province wide.
- Class 5 license (required)
- Working safely is a condition of employment.
