TDR Transportation & Logistics, a subsidiary of The Municipal Group of Companies is a transportation company providing courier and transport services around Atlantic Canada. We are currently seeking a Sales Associate to join our team based out of our Bedford, NS office.
Job Summary:
As an experienced sales representative, you will be responsible for growing new business in the Open Deck and Over Size freight markets. You are a proven professional working with a diverse group of clients and owning the deal cycle from start to finish. This sales representative will work closely with operations and senior managers to create sales targets and identify new potential customers.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Generate quality leads via targeted communication (email, social networks, and phone).
- Meet with prospective clients in person and over web conference.
- Evaluate prospective business opportunities and work with operations to propose a plan of service.
- Develop, document, and implement standard procedures with new customer accounts.
- Stay up to date on industry trends and research new areas of business.
- Respond to customer inquiries and work closely with a customer service team to develop a company response to common issues.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service.
- Prepare and present detailed rollout plans to senior management members.
- Any other duties as required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, and Experience:
- 2-5 years of sales experience with proven success in meeting/exceeding measurable sales targets.
- Ability to Travel across Canada and the US as needed.
- Knowledge of Transportation industry and long-haul operations.
- Strong computer skills are considered an asset.
- Strong written/verbal communication.
- Self-starter that is highly motivated with the ability to multi-task.
- Exceptional time management, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Reliable and strong work ethic
- Team Player
- Generate leads through cold calling potential customers.
- Ability to deal with people tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally always.
