The Municipal Group of Companies, based in Bedford Nova Scotia, is a large, diversified organization engaged in all major aspects of the heavy civil construction, mining, and environmental services within the Atlantic Provinces. We are currently seeking the expertise of a Program Administrator to join our team from our head office based in Bedford, NS.
Job Summary:
Reporting to the Program Manager, the Program Administrator will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Dexter Institute Private Career College as well as supporting the delivery of leadership programs within the Municipal Group of Companies. The Program Administrator plays a critical role in the success of our programs by providing sound organizational and decision-making skills and having strong people management skills.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Program planning requires the Program Administrator to coordinate all activities leading up to program kickoff. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Track applicants
- Schedule student interviews
- Communicate with students
- Provide support to instructors
- Prepare course material
- Create and managing student files
Program delivery requires the Program Administrator to administer the day-to-day activities required for successful delivery of our programs. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Act as first point of contact for students.
- Assist instructors to ensure they have everything they need for successful delivery of their course.
- Communicate regularly with the Program Manager to proactively address any issues that may arise.
- Document creation and management –attendance records, annual reports, transcripts, and graduation certificates.
- Act as main contact for numerous online portals for record keeping purposes.
- Other duties as required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, and Experience:
- Experience working with a diverse group of individuals
- Project management experience
- Experience in delivering educational programs
- Proficient with MS Office
- High level of interpersonal communication
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Adaptable to changing environments
