The Municipal Group of Companies, based in Bedford Nova Scotia, is a large, diversified organization engaged in all major aspects of the heavy civil construction, mining, and environmental services within the Atlantic Provinces. We are currently seeking the expertise of a Program Administrator to join our team from our head office based in Bedford, NS.

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Program Manager, the Program Administrator will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Dexter Institute Private Career College as well as supporting the delivery of leadership programs within the Municipal Group of Companies. The Program Administrator plays a critical role in the success of our programs by providing sound organizational and decision-making skills and having strong people management skills.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Program planning requires the Program Administrator to coordinate all activities leading up to program kickoff. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Track applicants
  • Schedule student interviews
  • Communicate with students
  • Provide support to instructors
  • Prepare course material
  • Create and managing student files

Program delivery requires the Program Administrator to administer the day-to-day activities required for successful delivery of our programs. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Act as first point of contact for students.
  • Assist instructors to ensure they have everything they need for successful delivery of their course.
  • Communicate regularly with the Program Manager to proactively address any issues that may arise.
  • Document creation and management –attendance records, annual reports, transcripts, and graduation certificates.
  • Act as main contact for numerous online portals for record keeping purposes.
  • Other duties as required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, and Experience:

  • Experience working with a diverse group of individuals
  • Project management experience
  • Experience in delivering educational programs
  • Proficient with MS Office
  • High level of interpersonal communication
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Adaptable to changing environments
