Fero Waste and Recycling Inc, a division of The Municipal Group of Companies, is a solid waste company that services Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. We are currently seeking a Working Foreman to join our team based out of Truro, NS. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone with strong mechanical experience and the ability to manage day-to-day operations and administrative duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform mechanical repairs and maintenance on equipment and vehicles
  • Oversee and support a small team of technicians
  • Prioritize and assign daily tasks to ensure efficient workflow
  • Monitor work quality and ensure safety protocols are followed
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance schedules
  • Communicate with management regarding staffing, equipment needs, and job progress
  • Assist with ordering parts, scheduling service, and coordinating external vendors as needed

Qualifications:

  • Red Seal certification in a mechanical trade (Heavy Duty, Truck & Transport, or equivalent)
  • Prior experience in a supervisory or lead-hand role is considered an asset
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Basic computer skills and comfort with administrative tasks (scheduling, reporting, etc.)
  • Ability to lead by example, work independently, and handle competing priorities

Work Environment:
This is a full-time, on-site role that involves both shop floor work and office-based duties. The successful candidate should be comfortable splitting their time between mechanical work and administrative responsibilities.
