We are currently seeking a Foreman based out of our Halifax, NS location.

With over 20 years’ experience across a range of drilling sectors we can provide solutions to unusual drilling situations and technically demanding projects. We are currently seeking a Foreman based out of our Halifax, NS location.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring the effective and efficient use of personnel, materials, equipment, facilities, and time.
  • Managing all project labour administration activities including payroll, timekeeping, labour coding, equipment coding, and safety reporting.
  • Assisting in the resolution of change requests, material defects and equipment problems.
  • Assist heavy equipment operators to secure attachments to equipment, signal operators to guide them in safely when moving equipment and provide assistance in other activities
  • Work with the equipment operators and drilling crew
  • Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task
  • Conduct pre-job toolbox meetings to identify potential hazards and measures to eliminate or minimize them
  • Ensure safety of fellow employees
  • Ensure the appropriate use of PPE while performing tasks
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Experience and Education:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in civil construction or a related field preferred
  • Valid class 5 driver’s license in good standing
  • Surveying background and grading experience would be considered an asset
  • Must be well versed in construction site protocols, rules and code of conduct.
  • Strong management, delegation, planning and leadership skills.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • High level of sound and independent judgment and reasoning.
  • Able to deal with people tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
  • Working safely is a condition of employment.
