Dexter Construction Company is a large, diversified Construction Company engaged in all major aspects of the heavy civil construction industry within the Atlantic Provinces. We are currently looking for a Class 3 Water Truck Driver to join our Bedford Operations.

Job Summary:

The Water Truck Driver will be responsible for operating water trucks to provide dust control, soil compaction, and other water-related services on construction sites. This role requires a strong focus on safety, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with the team.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate water truck safely and efficiently on construction sites.
  • Transport and apply water to control dust and support construction activities.
  • Ensure the truck is well-maintained, clean, and in good working condition.
  • Report any mechanical issues or safety concerns to the supervisor.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and protocols at all times.
  • Ensure safety of fellow employees;
  • Be aware of surroundings at all times
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, and Experience:

  • Previous experience in a construction environment
  • Valid Class 3 Drivers License with the ability to drive manual;
  • May be physically demanding at times, including the requirement to hold and manage a hose for extended periods.
  • Mechanical knowledge is an asset;
  • Must be well versed in construction site protocols, rules and code of conduct;
  • Physical ability to handle the demands of the job, including lifting and moving equipment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that projects are completed properly
  • Willingness to work in a team environment
  • Working safely is a condition of employment.
